Privacy Policy

About this policy
Rafeeq is a free, open-source Islamic companion maintained by the Rafeeq team (SA Apps Dev). This policy covers the app and rafeeq.teamsazen.com. You do not need an account to use the current app. Contact us at teamsazen@gmail.com with privacy questions.
Location and permissions
With your permission, Rafeeq obtains your location to calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction on your device. Your saved coordinates and place name stay in local app storage. Device geocoding services may process coordinates or a manually selected city to resolve place names. You can choose a city manually and change location or notification permissions in device settings. Prayer reminders are scheduled locally; disabling notifications stops their delivery.
What stays on your device
Preferences, bookmarks, reading progress, selected location and downloaded content are stored on your device. The app does not provide account-based cloud sync. Operating-system backups may include app data according to your device settings. Pictures you export or share are passed to the destination you choose.
Usage analytics and crash reports
Release builds enable Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to help us understand feature usage and diagnose failures. These services process app interactions, screen visits, device and app information, installation identifiers and crash diagnostics. Some events identify the Quran juz viewed or downloaded, or a setting changed. The current app has no in-app analytics opt-out switch. Debug builds skip Firebase initialization.
Online content and updates
Recitations, Quran downloads, translations, images and city lists can use external services, including AlQuran Cloud / Islamic Network, GitHub and content-delivery providers. Requests expose ordinary connection information such as your IP address and the requested resource to those services. Builds using Shorebird contact its servers to check for and download code updates. External websites, feedback forms and sharing apps operate under their own privacy policies.
Website and messages
Cloudflare hosts our website and may process IP addresses and request logs to deliver and protect it. The site stores the guide character dismissal preference in your browser. If you email us, submit feedback or open an issue, we receive the information you choose to send. GitHub issues are public: do not include private information in them.
Sharing and retention
We do not sell personal information or run advertising in Rafeeq. Service providers process information for the functions described here; information may also be disclosed where legally required. Local data remains until removed through app/device controls or uninstallation, subject to system backups. Provider-held data follows their retention policies and the project configuration. Support correspondence is kept as needed to handle requests and meet legal obligations.
Your choices and privacy requests
You can manage permissions, remove downloads, clear app data where your device supports it, or uninstall the app. Clearing local data does not automatically delete provider-held diagnostics or system backups. Email us to request access, correction or deletion of information we can identify as yours. Available rights depend on applicable law; we may need information to verify and locate your request. Service providers may process data outside your country. No storage or transmission method is completely secure.
Children and policy changes
Rafeeq offers religious learning content. Parents and guardians should supervise children’s use of online features and external links. We do not ask children to create accounts or provide personal profiles. Contact us if a child has sent personal information so we can address it. We update this policy when practices change and show the revision date above.
